Waiting for an in-person psychological assessment can be long, sometimes up to 2 years in some areas. Our team and program is designed to help families get access to assessment services in weeks, not years. Both in-person and virtual appointments are available.

Expert Autism & Developmental Disorder Assessments Across the Lifespan

Dr. Leslie Speer, our in-house Clinical Psychologist, is highly experienced in performing psychological assessments for individuals suspected of autism or other related developmental conditions. She’s been diagnosing individuals ranging from toddlers to older adults for the last 20 years, leveraging her expertise in both in-person and virtual assessments.

Our Team and Our Approach

  • We use a multidisciplinary approach with standardized assessment measures that are accepted by insurance and other 3rd party payers.
  • We have tenured Speech Language Pathologists with over a decade of experience in communication assessments and evaluations.

The diagnostic assessment includes a total of four appointments

  • Parent interviews
  • Play based assessment
  • Standardized psychological assessments
  • Standardized speech and language assessments
  • Results session
  • An optional 5th appointment for pathway navigation.

Leslie Speer, Ph.D., BCBA, COBA, NCSP

Clinical Director

Leslie Speer is a licensed psychologist, board certified behavior analyst, and a nationally certified school psychologist with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her areas of expertise include the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorder across the lifespan, parent and teacher training, school consultation, and community education. Dr. Speer previously served as the Program Director of the Autism Spectrum Evaluation Team (ASET) at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism. As Program Director, Leslie oversaw and coordinated multidisciplinary evaluations of children, adolescents, and adults suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Speer also coordinated a sibling clinic, medication monitoring clinic, and parent support groups, as well as offered consultation services regarding behavioral difficulties, treatment planning for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder, school difficulties, and advocating for students’ needs in the classroom/school. After ten years on staff at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Speer transitioned to a staff position at MetroHealth within the MetroHealth Autism Assessment Clinic (MAAC). At this time Dr. Speer also began her private practice, joining Meghan Barlow and Associates, with a continued emphasis on the evaluation of autism spectrum disorders across the lifespan. She remained in these positions until joining the Quadrant Biosciences and Frazier Behavioral Health team.

Our clinicians are in-network with Aetna, Anthem, CareSource, Cigna Evernorth, Cigna Medical, Cleveland Clinic Employee Health Plan, Independent Health, Medical Mutual, Meritian, Molina, OH Medicaid, Optum, Oscar, Tricare, United Healthcare Community Plan, and United Healthcare for ABA and Psychology. We will contact your insurance provider for prior authorization to determine your out-of-pocket costs due at the time of your appointment.
